The Minister of Trade and Industry, Eng. Amr Nassar, said that Egypt has enormous manufacturing potential in the field of engineering industries, which qualifies it to compete in the local and foreign markets, pointing out that the ministry is seeking during this stage to achieve integration with all ministries and concerned parties to increase reliance on local product and its preference. This came during the ministers meeting with the members of the Chamber of Engineering Industries in the Federation of Industries, where Nassar explained that the ministry is keen to complete all the axes of the strategy of industrial development and foreign trade for Egypt and to build on it in coordination and cooperation with the business community, in order to achieve the main objectives of the strategy, For his part, Eng. Amr Abu Farikha, Chairman of the Export Council reviewed the vision of the Council to increase and develop the exports of the sector, especially to some African countries, especially in view of Egypt having a distinct industrial base. Eng. Mohamed El Mohandes, Chairman of the Engineering Industries Chamber of the Federation of Industries, pointed out that the Chamber conducted field visits to a number of engineering factories to find out the available resources and seek to integrate these factories, which contributes to increasing reliance on local products and reducing imports.
