The committee met with a technical mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Cairo on Sunday, the second meeting with the mission, which works in the field of government aid in tax reform, said Mohamed El-Bahi, chairman of the tax and customs committee of the Federation of Industries.
Al-Bahi said in a special statement to "the seventh day" that the IMF trusts in the tax committee of the Federation of Industries as one of the parties interested in the view of its opinion in the field of taxation.
He pointed out that the delegation does not dictate instructions to the government, but rather is a technical mission that provides advice and perceptions of tax reform and asks the Union about the problems of implementation and the advantages of the tax system. He pointed out that the shift towards automation of tax procedures is very positive with the development of tax administration at present.
Al-Bahi added that the technical mission is proposing some solutions to improve the performance of the work of the tax administration and increase the proceeds, especially as they have international experience in this field, which can be used in the development of the tax system in Egypt.
