Eng. Amr Nassar, Minister of Trade and Industry, said that the decision of the German Mercedes-Benz Daimler to resume its activity in the Egyptian market is an important step in attracting foreign investment.

Nassar said in his remarks on Monday that the Egyptian market is one of the most important markets in the region, adding that there is keenness in his ministry to develop the automotive industry and its feeder industries in Egypt to be the hub for the manufacture and assembly of vehicles in the Middle East and North Africa.

He pointed out that the attraction of foreign investments is one of the most important objectives of the government during the current stage to achieve economic development.
